manuscript coaching

Good books change lives. I support writers of fiction, poetry, creative nonfiction, and hybrid work on manuscript development, review, and revision. If you’d like to schedule a 15 minute call to discuss your project, shoot me a message on my Contact page. I offer a sliding scale, as well as special discounts to trans women and trans BIPOC. Otherwise, for complete drafts, my standard rates are $900 for novels and short story collections, $450 for full-length poetry collections, and $225 for chapbooks. For works in active development, or repeat sessions after an initial complete draft consultation, my standard all-inclusive rate is $180 per session, with discounts for booking multiple sessions at a time.

"Working with Rainie gave me insight into my work I could never have found on my own. I learned more about myself and my work in those few hours with Rainie than I have in months. I don't often get access to this level of feedback, so I was thrilled to feel like I was in my own personal MFA course. She asked unique and essential questions that caused me to think more deeply about what I wanted to say with my manuscript and how I wanted to say it. Her thoughts were exactly what I—and my work—needed. When the call ended, I said, 'That was worth every penny.'" —Kira Rosemarie

"I'm so grateful to Rainie Oet for sifting through my manuscript with love and diligence, illuminating the potential of my collection to bloom into its fullest self. Her care and kindness inspired me to nurture my work with precision and grit and reach further and dream bigger with my poetry. I would definitely recommend her consultation services!" —Aurora Fyre

"I have thought about the session forever each day… I am grateful." —C.M.

“[The] work was handled with such care and attention… [I gained] a greater understanding of my own writing process and a more compassionate attitude towards myself and my writing… I honestly can't think of anything I would change or that was ineffective [about Rainie’s process].” —E.S.
